Hello All,

Trying to do some research here but there isn't much that I have been able to find in the topic of Remport and their AR15's. Are they good? How do they compare to other big brands? I like the idea of supporting smaller local companies. Any information is appreciated.

Thanks.

Remsport has done some custom work on two of my ARs. The work was great, the price fair and the turn-around time amazingly fast.

I own one and I'm very happy with it. I've heard otherwise from other people but have no direct experience so YMMV.

I have been pleased with mine and they will take the time to get things the way you want them.

I have been burnt twice with the shipping and the barrel I received had an oversize gas port. I had to install an adjustable gas block almost completely closed down to get the gun to extract properly and it is still violent

Have you discussed this with John? I cannot imagine him knowing about it and not trying to make it right unless there is more to the story.

I do not have a rifle from them but I did buy a stripped upper/lower set. With the exception of my Les Baer upper lower set, which the takedown and pivot pin holes are machined together for the tightest possible fit, it is the tightest fitting upper/lower combination I have ever seen. I don't know if they have the durability to go into combat, but for the range I would recommend them.

They offered to look at the barrel and my bolt, but based on the earlier dealing with them I would not give them another chance. Previously John went out of his way to try to make things right, but 3 strikes and you are out. Too many great companies out there to be dicking around.

I just got a complete lower that John built to my specs and it is a thing of beauty. I would not hesitate to do business with them again. John is a winner in my book, and right in MA!

I bought a stripped lower from the group buy. When I picked it up I also grabbed a LPK, they all went together as it was suppose to with no extra fitting. I ended up putting a CMNG upper on it and have had no problems with it for the about 2k rounds I have sent through it over the last 4 months. The fit is tight and I have no rattles as others have complained about in other manufacturers of ARs.

I am a range shooter and have not gotten to run this through any courses but look forward to going out to one.
(This is my first AR.)

I have one of their lowers from the NES 2009 group buy and I'm happy with that. John also built me an upper for a different AR and I'm quite pleased with that too.
