How Long Can a Glock Really Last? Legacy Preservation Tips

Cars wear out and rust away. Have you honestly ever seen a Glock that has worn out (other than replacing a few cheap parts like springs)?
No, but why risk finding out the hard way?? When you can buy a new copy for short money, why risk it with an antique??

There's a huge difference between wearing out and simply failing because it's old.

Metal doesn't change over even hundreds of years.
Most plastics do, with many becoming brittle with time. I'm not saying that is the case with a Glock. But it's at least a remote possibility. The oldest Glocks are now about 40 years old and they work fine.

How will they be when they are 120 years old, like the oldest gun I own. I don't know. Neither do most people.
Most that survive will probably still work just fine. Hard usage ones, who knows when they’ll fail. Whatever the answer is, I don’t want to be the guy figuring out that answer, the hard way.
