I would like to join HSC as the facilities are great. Anyone willing to sponsor me?

Thanks
Andrew

You don't really need a sponsor. Just show up at the monthly meeting and let them know you want to join and somebody there that night will sponsor you.

Did you join yesterday/ If so, I'll see you and all the new members at the machinegun range on Sun. morning when you take the safety tour. If not you can join next month and you don't need a sponsor. Officially you need a sponsor but you can show up without one and the BOD will assign one to you. I'll sponsor anyone who will come out and shoot with me once, just to show me that they are safe and so I know I've told them the does and don'ts of the club. Hope to see you Sunday morning.

No I didn't I thought I had to wait until I got my access card and all before I could use the club at all

Yes. You are a member and can shoot on your own after the safety briefing but if you'd like to shoot, I'll be happy to. If you'd like to shoot some full auto, let me know if you have 9mm or .45acp ammo or both and I'll bring the appropriate subguns. I'll probably have a 9mm sub gun, a .500 S&W and a 12ga. AOW anyway. The AOW is a Mossberg 590A1 with 14"bbl and no buttstock. Great fun for bouncing cans around the backstop.

Oh, I simply meant us new members! I don't actually own any 9mm or .45 because I only have an FID (two more years for my LTC), but maybe sometime in the future I'll pick up a box or two.

I asked because I bought a "trial" box of 7.62x39 for my SKS yesterday and I want to see how it runs through the gun..and maybe get it sighted in a little bit.

Thanks again Gerry for all the help.

All are welcome to shoot anything I bring to the range and yes you can shoot and sight in your SKS after the safety breafing,

I will also be at HSC in the AM if anyone needs anything. During the safety meeting you should catch me at the 100 yard range doing cleanup. Once I am done hoping to get some shooting time in.

Calahari, hope the issues with the SKS are worked out. Mine had some issues when I bought it so I know the feeling. Once running they are a nice piece.

Got my first rounds in today after the safety meeting - what a club!

Met a man named Ted (Ted Daffey? I think that's what he said) who gave me some pointers on how to get my SKS zeroed in. Met another gentleman named Jerry (not Caruso) who also gave me a few pointers. Thanks to both for the warm welcome to HSC. I can't wait to drive back.

The Ted you met was Ted Duffy and he's a good shot. He was talking to me at the machinegun range when you all came by on your safety tour. The Jerry you met was probably Jerry Ryan. Jerry is also a good shot, especially with a full auto. Your in good company. I was cleaning the machinegun range today and will finish it tomorrow. See you at the club.

Jerry Ryan sounds right. Both very nice guys and I appreciated their help. Looking forward to going again.
