when i see the bank statement..lol

XDs+45ACP.jpg

its always the dilemma , of patience vs immediate gratification. wait for the price to drop 100 dollars or pay the extra 100 to get it sooner than the rest. oh well 600$ gone... lol

If anyone is interested in shooting it , i will be free sometime next weekend as long as everything goes to plan.

Full review soon

Cool, glad you got it. Hope you like since I talked it up so much. Don't hate me if you don't. :)

I recently put down a deposit on one myself. They had just arrived that morning. I checked out the Shield but didn't think it offered me a heck of a lot over my other compacts, but the XDS is pretty much the same size but much more potent.

I had looked at the shield as well but since it was either a 9 or 40 , and im not a huge fan of 40, i decided my glock 26 filled the shield role,

But when looking for my first .45 i didnt want a fullsize . It was the xds which is about the size of a 26, but a 45 i thought this hopefully will be great. Since i prefer single stack .45's

My other options were a glock 36, s&w 4516, which their mags are insanely priced because it is discontinued. Or the CS45 which is another great gun.

Just curious here, does this thing shoot laser beams or something? It seems like everyone in MA wants one so badly.

I've been dying to get my hands on an XDs. What club are you a member of? I'd definately appreciate being able to try it out.

Not sure why either. Right now they are 100 bucks more than they should be. People are paying over msrp. I still think my xdm 3.8 will be a better shooter for me. But I may buy one to test it out, not until demand cools abut though

Jeff, the reason people are fawning over the gun, is because for once , we have an actual sub compact Glock-like gun, that glock failed to produce in a .45, glock made a huge gun called the glock 36 , which is the same size as a 19. with only 6 rounds... sadly, this one with an extended mag give you 7+1
when i post a full review of the gun this weekend. hopefully...

I will then start collecting names of people who want to shoot . anyone have a range that allows multiple guests? Mark?

Either that or everyone try and cram all of us into a place like harvard ? don't they have open days where everyone is allowed in?

I think Leominster or Lunenburg maybe has open shooting every Sunday. Where you can shoot and not be a member. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Leominster has open shooting on Sunday's. I could let 4 people into my club with me as well, usually I have the place to myself a lot of times anyway. Its not a fancy range, but it works.

PM me if you guys are interested in getting together.

I like to call it the Marsha premium.

That looks really cool, I have to say!

I've got the M&P 45 with mid length barrel, and I'm very happy with it but
would love to have something in .45 ACP that is light and small enough that it could be concealed in a front pocket.

Does anyone know if there is an extended magazine for the XDS? It's not so much the extra rounds I need but something large enough to get all my fingers on comfortably.

Yes they have already come out with a 7 rd extended mag giving it a full grip.

Going to buy this as my backup mag

Queen,

I have the LCP now and it fits perfectly in my back pocket with a desantis holster. I remember seeing a thread where you were looking for an LCP or LC9. Did you ever get a chance to check them out and how does the LCP compare in size compared to the XDs? Like most people, I have a couple of different conceal carry weapons, but because of work and my attire I can't wear IWB holsters or anything that prints at all. So far the LCP has been the only pocket gun that I could trust and was comfortable enough to sit on (smaller than my wallet).

People fap unnecessarily over subcompact .45s for whatever bizarre reason. So every time a new one is produced the response is pretty predictable. I think part of it is because so many .45s with small barrels are pieces of crap (example, para warthog) people hope the next one somehow or another defies that trend. [laugh]

Mike, refer to my post directly above yours. For the record, I hate having to rely on a subcompact in any caliber, but since I can't open carry and my job doesn't allow firearms on the premises at all (meaning I have to be positive it will stay hidden in all circumstances) In my scenario and I'm sure many others on this board, more stopping power is never a bad thing. I've been the victim of a home invasion in which I had my .380, thank god I didn't have to draw it, but even if I did. The thing I was most worried about was "will this tiny round have any affect on this drugged out nutcase. Not "My lawyer fees are going to suck for what happens to this guy if I have to draw." I'd much rather deal with lawyer fees.
