I've got a Bushnell 3-9 on a Marlin Model 60 (Bushnell TRS-25 red dot on M&P15-22). That thing shoots dimes @ 50 yds, quarters @ 75yds. Beyond that, the budget ammo going through it becomes subsonic, and accuracy suffers greatly. The optic is just okay. It works, but it's not impressive.
The Bushnell was inexpesive, but a HUGE improvement over the BSA "rimfire" scope that was on it. If were going to do some serious benchrest action, I'd go with this Nikon. I haven't used it, but have used other Prostaffs. They transmit a much better view than the Bushnell, and Nikon's "Spot On" is fun to play with.
By the specs, the P22 should allow quicker target aquisition. I've got the red dot on the M&P15-22 for that reason, but the targets will be within 50 yds. I would think the P22 to be a good choice for both target and active shooting.
I have a primary arms 1-4x which runs about 119. It is great at the 100 yard range and lower. Fine for 150 too if you don't want to put it in the same hole.
