This is probably too sketchy to get an id, but I thought I'd try.

I've inherited several firearms and I'm trying to identify each for those that need FA-10 or not. (some are pre-1900).

One has no markings I've been able to find, but has a hand written tag that says ".22/9mm AGE".

It is a double barreled longarm with one barrel in each of those calibers. (left .22, right 9mm) It breaks open from the top to load one of each cartridge, like a shotgun. At the moment that's all I have. I'll snap some photos next week and try to put together a better description.

Does anyone have any idea based on this, manfufacturer, date of mfg, etc? [thinking]

Is the 9mm barrel chambered for 9x19 (a.k.a. 9mm Luger or 9mm Parabellum)? If so, it's not pre-1900.

Can you post a pic?

I only had brief access to take an inventory and verify everything was unloaded, so far and scribbled some notes. The calibers were hand written on a tag and they appeared about the right size. I'll bring a digital camera next visit and take more extensive notes.

Hate to see that sticker pasted onto that nice old wood stock. I suggest you remove it as soon as you can, otherwise it will be a sticky mess.

That was an attempt to prevent any of the guns from being affected by creeping ambulatosis, a condition in which certain more unique firearms become ambulatory and walk out the door.

This batch is almost finished with documentation and they'll be nicely cleaned (not refinished or over cleaned) as they move to their new home.

My grandmother called and told me to tell you to get that gun off her bedspread.

Sorry, I can't help you, but that's a cool rifle. Bring it to the Independence Day Shoot and maybe someone can ID it.

They sure look close. I think mine looks a slightly more modern version - I'm going by the lever to open the breech - seems more similar to a modernish shotgun.

I've saved the pics and text as annecdotal background on the rifle. Thank you!

So do you have one of those sponge memories or just stumbled across them?
