A simple test to confirm your holster meets IDPA guidelines, that it's close to the body and concealed. If you can fit a 3/4" dowel between your body and the pistol then it's not close enough. No drop/offset holsters in IDPA. Most any holster used for conceal carry works fine.wtf is 'the dowel test' ?

Sounds like the same holster that is OK on a chubby guy may not be OK on a skinny guyA simple test to confirm your holster meets IDPA guidelines, that it's close to the body and concealed. If you can fit a 3/4" dowel between your body and the pistol then it's not close enough.

R. A holster may be legal for some shooters but not legal for other shooters due to different body shapes.
Which is frankly bs...captain pudge shouldn't benefit from love handles while beanpole's holster tilts a fraction of an inch further away. That's actually written right in the rule book

My Beretta tilts on my hip too. Heavy guns are at a slight disadvantage here.Agreed. I'm 6ft 160 pounds which makes it impossible to keep the holster (with a 1911) from tilting...
