Insanely long double-action trigger pull on Ruger KP345PR?

It's so long I literally have to pull the trigger with the index fingers on both hands to get it to fire. Is a common thing, and if so, how can it be fixed? This is only the second .45 I have fired, so I don't know if this is typical. Thanks.
