Had this since I was a kid, painted it red to make it more cool.
If anyone knows any history on this style please let me know, says AMMO CAL .50 M2 across the bottom.

Note that this ammo was specifically linked for mini guns:

One dim tracer (for use with NV goggles) and nine ball rounds, vice the standard of 1:4.

I've see (Twice) an ammo can that said shotgun shells. Standard green metal 50cal can yellow lettering.
I saw one on gunbroker but missed the end of the auction, then another one later at a customer's home but it was their son's, and he was at college, so I couldn't offer to buy it.

I used to look through the trash barrels at ranges for interesting cardboard boxes of surplus ammo. I also put samples of ammo aside.
Her are some 15 round German WW2 period boxes. Some guys really get into the codes and markings. German Ammo,2.jpg

Found a couple more while rummaging around...

The DODIC for the Claymore Anti Personnel Mine is K143.

This can was repurposed to hold a single mine.

They normally come six in a wooden crate.
