I preferred the Morrow Guide to Knots but I loaned it out years ago and never got it back. ☹

This. And a clove hitch...I use my knot book almost as often as I use my pocketknife, but to be honest my bowline can get almost any job done.

Even though this thread is 'lashing', I love using a friction hitch when tarping things.
Here's one. I go around the mainline a couple more times with mine when finishing.
Nice pic. I have a similar one, on the wall at work, over, "WE GET IT DONE."
That's what we used to say. "Trow on a half hitch and a Motherf***er" and call it a day......and then put a half hitch on each side and burn it.
