Irans big punch

Iran has put 3 communications satellites into orbit in the last 8 or so months. Tremors were recorded in the area and was attributed to a "possible" low yield underground nuclear detonation.

An air burst would emit a low EMP that would disrupt communications. So long G-mail! (at least for a little while). But Iran now has it's own national service.... how convenient.

Connecting the dots yet?

I don't think even THEY are that insane!
But, then again would Obama have the sack to do what needs to be done if they did?

NOT to seem tin foil hatty here BUT...with all that we have floating around up in space, I would think that something that we've got up there has probably fully examined anything put up there by them. On the other hand, what do ya think a small nuke would do to the international space station if orbiting by close enough when detonated?[thinking]

I think you will know that they have achieved the ability to successfully produce nukes when we see news reports that Israel has bombed several sites inside Iran, during an early morning raid, leveling large facilities that Iran will quickly call a "Baby Milk Factory" with hastily painted signs in English

It will be an above ground nuke test. The US already knows this though as they monitor every inch of that desert.

Anything less means nothing to the US or anybody else.

In reply to the ISS theory: Not likely. First off, that is an international effort, which largely includes Russia, so that would make that suicidal ten times more than otherwise. f you think Russia, who has not only been supporting Iran but also has issues with playing by all the rules would be a good target, you are mistaken. More people across the world would be pissed about the destruction of the ISS vs a nuke in NYC. This would ASSURE the destruction of Iran. Second, a nuke would be completely unnecessary. In orbit, objects travel 17000MPH+. They would just need to put something else up into orbit on a collision course with the ISS, or do what China did and just shoot a hunk of metal into it. A nuke would be inappropriate for many reasons if that was there goal.

Maybe they cloned Ahmadinajad. Who knows. I highly doubt it will be all that exciting. Its not going to be an attack, they aren't about to commit suicide.

There would be no "test" unless said "test" was on Israeli soil. Which would inevitably cause Israel to counter punch, which would be more like getting hit with a peterbilt as opposed to a punch. If they get a nuke they will only be destroying themselves, which is too bad because by the looks of it there are a lot of Iranians (younger generation) who want the tyrannous Government out.

The pulse from the detonation would be totally destructive to the space station. It's been there for over 25 years and it been patched more than your servers. It's would be "Game Over"

So they (the Russians) sacrifice a few people. Uhhhh do I need to keep going here?

There is massive unrest there. The government is SERIOUSLY worried about it. they're cracking down like never before. This is far, far worse than anything there since the '79 revolution.

And it's not just the kids. This is everyone. From the villages to the citiies. the nominal leader, Mousavvi, is a hero of the '79 revolution.

The regime is desperate to distract the public and cutting off gmail is one more sign they're getting ready to do a Tiannemen Square imitation.

The 11th is the revolutionary anniversary. The opposition has been planning for months to stage a major protest and disrupt the official celebrations. The government just hanged a bunch of protesters to scare people. Whatever they wind up doing, you can rest assured it will be for domestic consumption. Iran has a lot bigger problems at home at the moment than external ones.

See, they're really not that much different then us over there.

I predict Iran will do something to slap the US in the face, whether they pop a nuke or just tell Obama to take his sanctions a sit and spin. I do know that no matter what they do Obama will just bend over and take it and probably give a speech about himself.

Couldn't they just stop selling oil to the western hemisphere? Wouldn't that pretty well screw us? How much oil do we get from Iran?

Yes, it would screw us. However, it would leave Iran to drink the oil and eat the sand. Oil is pretty much all they have. If these piece of sh*t countries didn't have oil, we would just let them burn themselves out.

Well, China and Russia like them don't they? That should be enough of an oil market to sustain the country you would think.
