I took a look at one of these rifles today; I believe it was a model 31 with the retractable sling in the buttstock. I know that they were produced by High Standards for sale at Sears and that is all I know. I am looking for opinions from people who own or have owned one of these rifles; dependability, accuracy? I am looking to add a used .22 rifle to shoot at the range.

I've had some experience with one of these....the retractable sling is a cool feature.

My experience is that it's a "regular" .22 semi auto, nothing special either way...may be picky about ammo, reasonable accuracy.

YMMV

If it's a "deal" ....what the hell, it's only money! [laugh]

That was the first rifle my father let me shoot and I still have it. It shoots great BTW. You can still get parts if need be as well.
I have a cheap scope on it now and my son loves to shoot it, looks like this one is going down to the third generation a bit faster than the rest.
