just got an M&P 45

Congrats on the new purchase. There is nothing worse than hearing about someone who drops hundreds of dollars on a gun and is not happy with it. It is also nice to hear about shops out there that go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy.

The more I hear about the M&P45, the more I want one. Half the price of a decent 1911, larger magazine capacity, great accuracy and Glock like reliability without the pesky kaboom characteristics.

What's not to like?

that was my reasoning. my fiance says to me "i thought you wanted a 1911", which i do but all at the same time i got a great deal on a non-flashy gun, in the caliber i wanted. Some people say they aren't attractive, frankly i thing they look sick with the forward cocking serrations. Some guys don't like em, i do!

Dom

p.s. thanks for the holster recommendations, I am leaning towards the crossbreed and a nice gun belt.

Yeah, and that still makes it cheaper than a used Glock and a third the price of a Kimber

No doubt!!!

My goal someday is to own every M&P there is, great guns. Easy to get in mass, value priced, multiple size options, reliable, the 45 is a great shooter... Maybe I will bring it out sunday after breakfast at HSC....

How do you like the mag release? I think its way to touchy.

I have now problems with the ones I have.

I maybe Ask Backwords but I'm left handed and I didn't change the mag. release around to the other side.

I'm just so use't to using my left fingers to hit the release on other guns that I just left it on the left side of the gun.

I'm another lefty, and run my M&Ps the same way. I have had a few issues with the 9mm and inadvertent mag releases. After sniffing around online, S&W has made some running changes in their mag releases. I've got a brand new one in now, but haven't had the chance to run it at the range to check, yet. I bought mine well used, and have run about 2k through it since then, so it may be one of the early ones. There is enough material on the mag release to grind down to your preferred shape.

The 45 I've had since new, 1.5k into it with no issues at all.
