One of the best delis I've seen was in the garden district of New Orleans, run by a transplant from Brooklyn.

I'd take Sam LaGrassa pastrami over Katz any day.Just an FYI that I discovered that Katz Deli in NYC ships their pastrami nationwide.
I have eaten there twice in my lifetime and now knowing they can ship to my home, I will need to move some of my ammo funds to them.
Priorities.
Anyone else been there ?
Matamoras is the PA side. Port Jervis is NY.
If you’re doing the transit you never touch NJ. Although you can easily take a side road and go into NJ, but nobody does that.![]()
I'd take Sam LaGrassa pastrami over Katz any day.
Katz is a place that's famous for being famous, like Mike's Pastry or Kelly's Roast Beef. Everyone knowsModernBovas is better and almost any random rb place on the northshore is better than kellys
Bovas is bomb.FIFY...![]()
Just returned from Helfand's, ordered the large corned beef sandwich, excellent sandwich.
Gotta love a Jewish Deli staffed by Hispanics
Chef walked around asking diners how everything was, I told him I'd been waiting for the opening since August.
I was in the Financial District on a drill weekend 10 yrs ago and walked to LaGrassa's and they were closed. I was pissed!I'd take Sam LaGrassa pastrami over Katz any day.

Is that fact or a matter of opinion?I'd take Sam LaGrassa pastrami over Katz any day.

NES itself could not survive on facts alone. It is the opinion that is the oxygen of this whatever it is . . .Is that fact or a matter of opinion?
I'll be returning to Helfand's to try the pastrami next.

Bovas is bomb.
The killer thing about Bovas was not the rest of the stuff they had but it basically was the only place in the North End you could get a slice of pizza qt after like midnight at one
point. Bovas is an isle of relief in a city that shuts down way too early.

Famed NYC restaurant grilled over $30 sandwich: ‘Really overrated’
This sandwich requires too much “bread,” according to X users.nypost.com
I could never figure out why a Kosher deli would serve a Reuben sandwich, which is certainly non-Kosher because it contains corned beef and Swiss cheese.

We will have to agree to disagree. Nothing like a really well made Reuben IMHO. The problem is that everyone makes one, but few use really good ingredients and prepare it just right.I never understand why people want a Reuben when a Rachel is much better anyway. I'm on a kraut fan at all.
This placed lasted 18 months.Hallelujah!
Helfand's Deli in Worcester is opening on Thursday, 27 October.
More to Follow.
Because there's nothing preventing non jews from buying it, or the large subsection of jews that DGAF about being kosher. Plus it's delicious.![]()
Only to be strictly Kosher none of the utensils or plates used for this should also be used for Kosher food handling. Dairy and meat products are never to be mixed. My mother had two sets of dishes and utensils in her kitchen for that very reason. Plus two sets for Passover.
