Little things that can change the looks a lot.

Nice. How’s the trigger? One I had needed a ton of polishing just to make it reasonable (like 4 lbs). It was very gritty from the factory.

I've had this SIG 1911 that I picked up used for a good deal a while ago and just didn't dig the looks of it. Yesterday I decided to give it a thorough cleaning and put some new grips on and wow what a difference such a simple item can make. Think it needs a mag well now to complete the look I want.

Excellent choice. Wilson G10s grip like prom night. I rock one on my Italian showpiece. Recommend some stainless or nickel torx jewelry to finish the look.

Better now. While in the deep clean I noticed some foreign material in the grooves that the trigger bars slide in, it was like a varnish of some sort that chipped out with a dental pick. I also used a bit of never dull to clean up some parts but will be going back in with some Flitz in the future to really polish things up. Still a big improvement but haven't taken the scale to it yet.

I put a set of VZ grips on my FrankenPara not that long ago. Only needed to do a small modification to the grips so that they fit properly.

On a 1911, I always add an Ed Brown checkered or snakescale mainspring housing magwell, and magwell housing grips to match it, I think it finishes off the end of the mag area nicely rather than having the mag stick out.

I'll need to look into that Maxwell, I haven't decided on anything besides black.
