So im looking for a 9mil carry gun...looking to spend around 600.. I wont be able to buy it until after xmas so that leaves me time to look. I looked into the smith n wessen bg but not sure if i want the .380. Havent been lucky engh to find a sheild that i want but will just buy it when i find 1 but in the mean time i want to stock up my safe its lonely with only 1 45 lol so im open for pros n cons for all ccw 9...thanks in advance

This is just my somewhat educated opinion, but I suggest a Glock 26 if you don't mind paying the MA premium. YOu should be able to get one for $600 or maybe a bit more. Very concealable, extremely reliable and accurate. 1o+1 capacity, so no need to find preban mags unless you want to get a larger one for more capacity. Can't say enough good things about them.

Right out of the box they are ready to go with no need for trigger jobs, like the M&P. Might want to get night sights, thats it.

the only glocks i was able to find were the 22's that i thought about getting to jump on that glock wagon lol

I can recommend a Ruger sr9c. I have about 1000 rounds through it with no problems. 1 ftf, but that was with Winchester white box, and I heard those have that tendency.
You can carry it no problem. I even carry with a full size mag...sorry you guys in mass don't get that one.
I hear the mass trigger is nice also. I great first choice IMO.

With the left over $150-200, you can get plenty of practice ammo!

If you are looking for a handgun to carry, you want to look at ones where you can buy standard capacity magazines for them. Like the 17rd for the Glock 17 and 15rd for the G19. You do not want to pick up a HK Compact and have to carry -3rd magazines with it.

Easy. Glock 19. Easily concealable, good capacity and glock reliability.

I would second this but it sounds like the OP is looking for something smaller. (based on the fact he mentioned a bodyguard and a shield)

I have no problem concealing my G19 but some find it too blocky. The right holster, pants and belt make it a very nice "hicap" concealed 9mm if one were to put the effort into it.

yea i like the thiness of the sheild...i drive a very small sports car that is really low to the ground... so with racing seats and a blocky gun would prob dig into me...but my buddy has a few glocks im goin to try and see how they feel on me getting in and out...im from the cap so i dont think there is any place aroundthat lets me test shoot either [sad2]

i know you cant put a price on safety, i can always ajust my price for something. i just cant afford a 1000+ gun right now with xmas but i do like the cap of the glocks any one have anything good to say about similer guns to the sig p238?

Hard to go wrong with Sig or Glock. I have a G27 (the .40 version of G26) and it does everything well; conceal, shoot, run crappy ammo as well as defensive, and not make me feel bad if I sweat all over it or don't clean it after a range trip. I also carry a Sig P6 occasionally and feel the same way about it - though I take somewhat better cosmetic care of it than the G27. [grin]

If you ever get out this way, you're welcome to try them both on and see how they shoot.

thanks, i have a sig p250,45 and i heard a lot of good things and bad things but i ran all kinds of ammo thru it and it has a good 800+ rounds throw it and not once have i had a ftf or eject.....(knock on wood) lol but that is to bulky to carry and not many holsters and i dont want to spend the money on a CB to not carry around anyways and i think but not sure that the subcompact isnt MA legal...

Not to hard to find. I have seen quite a few in the classifieds in the few months that I have been a member of NES.

Another vote for the Glock 19/26

Yup. Just do a little homework and you can find them out there

S&W M&P 9c or the Ruger SR9compact....Glocks in MA and the Kahr PM9 are over your $600 budget

This. Glocks are great, but you will have a tough time finding one in this state under $700.

Also the M&P9c is really not much bigger than the Shield. The 9c is a double stack and the Shield is a single stack, so the Shield is slightly slimmer, but only slightly. I carry a 9c and it's a fantastic gun after a trigger job. Love it.

You just need to look around and have a little patience. You can also find a FFL that will transfer preban Glocks and go on GunBroker cause they always have G19s for $500 or less so with shipping and transfer fees you are only looking at $550ish. Again, if you want a deal, you have to work for it.

i was looking at it but didnt have a chance to get a feel for it...but deff have a few to consider...glock is deff on the top of my list, i have a very long list lol

Used CM9's or PM9's can be had for your price... seen a ton of them on this board of the last few months. I personally own both the SR9c and the PM9, and the PM9 is significantly smaller in size then the SR9c. I guess it depends on what size fits you.
