Looking for a bit of info on M1A/SemiAuto M14

That rifle gives me a Woody. I'm saving now for a decent shooter.

I think they did invent the original semi-auto version of the platform (one that couldn't be converted to full-auto).

That being said, it's a stupid rule

Appears that the 'Springfield Armory Only' rule has been dropped. While Springfield Armory might have something extra if the winner is shooting one of their rifles, the CMP award does not mandate a Springfield Armory brand M1A.
