Anyone have any recommendations for a gun club on the MA North Shore. The most convenient is the MA Rifle Association in Woburn. I just don't know anyone that is a member so I haven't heard any opinions. I am looking to get back into competitive shooting so a club that is active in NRA matches, IDPA, or USPSA would be great. Thanks for your help.

IMO they all stink.

Do yourself a favor and go to New Hampshire or Harvard. Unless you like being told you can only have 1 bullet in your AR magazine...

another vote for Harvard. They offer more types of shooting than any other club I know of. I'm there twice a week, (more if I can avoid work) and I haven't run into any jerks yet.

You might want to check out Andover Sportsmen's Club if you are interested in something that doesn't require a long drive. Aside from their 5 round/mag limit on handguns and 10 round/mag on rifles, the club is actually pretty nice. They don't bother you and you can come and go as you please. Indoor range is open 24x7 unless scheduled for matches or special events. Also, no range officers breathing down your neck. The members are all very nice and willing to help you out if you are new to certain firearms. They've got a great skeet/trap range and the folks there are willing to teach you and let you use their firearms if you are learning.
