Walther P22 is good after you do some tweaking.
You shouldn't have to tweak a brand new .22 plinker handgun. It should run trouble-free right out of the box or go back to the factory.
I'll throw another vote in for the Ruger MKIII. Yes they're a pain in the butt to disassemble if you've never done it before, but once you learn the little secrets of it, it's simple.
I have other .22 handguns that are sort of hard to find in MA as well. The latest one is the Browning 1911-22. Man that thing is a sweet little shooter. Over 500 rounds through it so far and not one hiccup or stoppage of any kind. F*ck the Walther P22.
