the bike is a toy, a car is necessary and needed daily.
Tnks for the heads up but Max does our service; he called a few years back and mentioned that the seal was just beginning to seep and it was replaced as a precautionary measure, $350 or so.
Our lengthy history with Subaru proved the engine is inherently flawed-70% of our vehicles had headgasket or engine block issues from the first oil change. As importantly though is that our Subaru history clearly demonstrated that Subaru, the Company, is equally as flawed - the children in Cherry Hill insisted that each issue, from head gaskets-to loud rear end noises/the wheel shake of death, the heat shield chorus, multiple head light failures-and the cvt failure (these are not all the problems) was/were part of the 'unique Subaru driving experience' or words to that effect.
They bought two back from us.

If you must have a Subaru you MUST provide yourself with some protection and this is LEASING not buying an extended service contract.
A lease buyout will not end up costing a hideous amount of cash over a purchase, certainly more but please believe me that the extra cash is worth it for the peace of mind it WILL bring you as I am certain you would never ever dream of keeping the pos.
The odds of getting a Subaru without any serious issues is highly unlikely-the odds of getting any Subaru which does not need thousands of dollars of repairs post the 100k mile mark is impossible.
Lease and you will most likely only suffer for a couple of years, then its Subaru's problem, and that my friends is a very good feeling.
By the way, the Mrs. has had her Tiquan for about a year-16k, zero antifreeze in the oil and the tank shows no loss-only scheduled maint-take from this what you will.
With regard to Subaru dealers-as the vehicles themselves they are plagued with serious issues and everyone we had experience with has been in desperate need of adult supervision.
