M&P 45 to be re-released in MA soon?

I asked the question when we were out at S&W last week.

Answer was a VERY TENTATIVE . . . "perhaps by the end of the year"!

Someone else responded with "which year?"

When we see it on dealer shelves, we'll know it's available. Until then it's really only idle speculation.

The guy laughed and they didn't toss me out, so I guess it was OK.

I shot one at the Shooting Sports Center and it was pretty good.

So it was you? I didn't see where the comment came from.

You must have shot the FS .45, right? I asked if they had the Compact there and they said "No". I wanted to try the 45C. The FS probably was a "US trigger" and thus was pretty decent (it gets to ~8 # after 500-700 rds).

The FS 9 that I rented had a MA trigger and was very nasty, no matter how many rds had run thru it.

Full sized, yes. Trigger pull was OK, but nothing spectacular.

Well if it was "OK", then it couldn't be a MA trigger!! [thinking]

My M&P 45 is down to ~8# with nothing done to it (yet) except running ~900 rds thru it.

Watch for an Email.

I feel as excited about the release of the M&P 45 as I do about my AR-15 upper: It's been so long and there have been so many delays that I'm just not excited about it anymore and have moved on.... I'm looking into either a Sig, or an HK to fill my .45ACP needs.

If the M&P45 is on the EOPS list, and the manufacturer is confident of its compliance with the below listed CMR, where is the problem?

Ahhhhhh......young grasshopper. Therein lies the problem that grinds all of us around here and that is......(drumroll) THE SUPER SECRET AG LIST

She keeps this fabled list in her underwear drawer so that even if you broke into her home to steal the dragon's gold, you'd be foiled by the sulfurous smell of baby Dragon eggs and ....

the irony, of course, is that the above answer is "technically" as good as any other one you'll get to this question.

They need the horrendous 10+ # trigger to pass the AG Regs.

The M&P 45 up to this time has an (officially declared) 6.5-8# trigger.

Until S&W redesigns it to be horrible, the gun won't be available in the Commiewealth to any but LEOs.

They still don't meet the AG Regs, per the AG. Thus sales are legally restricted to LEOs only.

Agreed about the 21SF! I wanted one . . . until I got to shoot the M&P 45 . . .

MassMark,

For What its worth, I've fired an M&P 40 (granted NOT the same as a .45), but I prefer my H&K45C much more. There's something nice about a hammer gun and the capability to carry Condition 1.

Don't get me wrong - I own 2 other striker fired pistols which I would never give up.

Thanks N6...After the ultimate .45 crack dealer opened up his collection of Sigs and HK's to me at the last Shirley Shoot, (you devil drgrant [devil]) and another generous member has graciously allowed me to shoot his Sig for an extended period, (you devil Clinotus [devil]), I'll likely wind up with either a Sig or an HK. I also want a 1911 beater, (you devil EddieCoyle [devil]) and will likely be making a purchase soon. If the M&P becomes available, I'll likely take a pass....

You should try one first.......[devil]

You're welcome to try my M&P40 with Burwell's carry job done on it whenever the next shoot is (not at Shirley, I couldn't commit before it filled up). I'm sure you'll love it.
