After soliciting numerous "unbiased" opinions I pulled the trigger on a 92fs Inox. I sure can't seem to find anything resembling a loaded magazine indicator on it which I thought was a requirement for a handgun to be Assachusetts compliant? I also received two magazines in the box that had cutouts/peepholes at five, ten, and fifteen rounds. I made the assumption that they were modified to hold ten rounds but to my surprise I loaded the full fifteen into them today. I'm visibly shaken knowing I had that kind of fire power in my hands and will be taking them back to the dealer on Monday.

So is/was this a MA compliant handgun or a mistake?

My inox has the indicator. It's on the right hand side it looks like a little black strip. Maybe you got lucky with a couple of preban mags. And yes it is on the mass list.

I checked on the chamber indicator Scarab and slammed if your not right. I can't believe I missed it but I can't really imagine looking for it. It's tough to feel and even harder to see even though it's painted red. I don't like them much anyway.
Why would I get new/old preban magazines with a new handgun? Well anyway I like the firearm and the only problem I have found really is when I appendix carry it pokes me in the Jewels. I went into store on way to to the range and found myself walking bow legged and chafing. They have an ankle holster on eBay for it.... go figure

Why? Do a search and see the difference between pre and post ban mags. If they are legit pre bans keep them.

If you feel bad about it.. You can always load three in the mag and make sure to keep the chamber unloaded while you carry..if that makes you feel better.

Thanks Sean but I'm not really visibly shaken having fifteen round magazines I was just questioning why I would get them with a new MA gun. Without searching I would still bet they are not new pre-ban given that Beretta probably puts out a lot more new mags than new firearms firearms and that they are new/new mags mags and I just got lucky. I really don't plan on taking them back anyway.
Good advise on carrying with an empty chamber but I go one step further. I carry one B. Fife round in my pocket and no mag in the gun because the 92fs allows you to easily dump one into the chamber from hand. Can't be to safe.......

Whether the gun is compliant or not is a non-issue at this point since the dealer already transferred it to you. As far as the magazines are concerned, my impression has always been that the 92/M9 mags haven't changed one bit in the last 30-40 years, so if you can't tell odds are no one else will be able to either.

the gun itself is compliant. even if it's not--it doesn't matter. the legal system only cares about the dealer selling it to you if it were to be a non-compliant handgun.

the mags? the only way that i know of to tell whether the mags are post-ban or not would be: if they were dated, or if they were stamped LEO/.mil only.

OP, quit worrying about stuff. you'll live longer.

No worries at all about any of this. Was just curious about getting 15 round mags with a NIB gun. I am NOT visibly shaken nor am I taking any mags back to store. I do not have a B. Fife round in my pocket. Geez my humor sucks.
