MA gun travel law

I'm a bit unclear on the issue of traveling with guns.

Is it okay to merely lock them in an unloaded condition in your trunk, or do they need have trigger locks / lockable cases?

You can’t be too careful in this state. (Massachusettes)

Thanks!

Please set your User CP to show ALL THREADS. Then do an Advanced Search for "transport" in the Gun Laws forum. You will find all the answers/scenarios there.

Short answer:

- Depends on your trunk (issue is access from within vehicle).
- Trigger locks do NOT meet any part of the "transport" law, they are irrelevant. However, once you stop your car and get out, the guns are now "Stored" and have to meet that law (different, of course).

Thanks! I did do a search but nothing relevant came up. I'll do as you say. :)

My trunk can open up so it is accessible from the inside. However, the only way to do this is to pull levers that are inside the trunk itself. I should be okay.

Thanks for the info.
