Marlboro show this weekend

Any one go to the show?
Nope. Was thinking about it Saturday, but I'm getting much too old to stand in line in the cold. Besides, there is nothing I really need and some of my favorite vendors have either passed, quit the business or just don't want to do the shows any longer in Maura's anti-2A Massachusetts. :(

I really wish it would be a better show. I would love to take my son to a good show and spend an afternoon walking around.

But it’s just not worth the admission fee. Maybe if it were $10 but not even close to worth it for the price they charge

Local gun shops are usually at the shows lol

You usually say this when people talk about buying online or at Bass Pro/Cabela's.

Did go as I was looking for a hard to get magazine. The only big vendor there was Mass Armament from Bellingham and Tombstone from Brookfield. Otherwise there were a few small guys selling a few guns.

If you’re into knives you missed a show. 60-65% of the vendors were knife vendors.

I’m afraid to ask, but what was the admission fee??

I went with a buddy looking for a knife and a walk and got both. Its definitely more of a knife and uncle Bobs barn clear out yard sale than a gun show. However, the antique guys and gals had some nice pew pews. Jerky, ear plugs and fake suppressors were hot commodities! We went mid morning and parked right next to the building, got right in, no line. It was very quite except the ammo corral and a few dealers getting way too much for MA pistols you would not want. Summed up it was typical Commichusetts gun show.

Take the boy on an extended weekend down to the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg PA.

Not a gun show, honestly more of a hunting and fishing expo. But they have a whole building for firearms. Manufacturers and vendors alike. I got my fill of hunting and gun stuff that weekend.

I went, didn’t buy anything just like the last 4 shows I’ve attended in the last few years. This time I was hoping to find some reloading items but didn’t find much. Found some ok-ish deals on powder but not enough of a deal to buy there instead of buying from my lgs

I think there will be some good news soon since that was the promoter’s last show at Marlborough, Mass and probably others. It is hopeful that a young show promoter from PA and NY shows will do a much better job running shows in Mass. I would like to think they could bring the entry price down to get more customers in there too. Time will tell but don’t give up hope for gun shows behind enemy lines just yet.

Is this true??!!

Is this true??!!

I was just going to ask the same thing. The lady who is doing it now has run it into the ground. How do you take a gun show and alienate all the gun vendors. Hell even the medium sized gun vendors left

Hope it’s true so someone can make it a fun show again. Saw several tables Saturday with jewelry and pens. That’s a very bad sign

It’s a pretty simple formula if someone has the patience to rebuild a gun show in a commie state.

1) get rid of Carole and Homeless Jeff Spicolli - this will result in many of the bad vendors self-deporting
2) Lower admission and make it free for kids under 14
3) Better advertising on social media to attract people under age 75
4) “celebrity” appearances; think guntubers, etc
5) Lower the MFin admission and make it free for kids under 14!

The event will eventually attract better vendors, and eventually they’ll pay more for table space.

I've been suggesting that kids get in free for a long time too. If not free, at least for a significant discount.

That's about typical for the people running these shows. "Hey lets charge people who can't even buy anything!" 🤣
In my experience it’s indicative of a promoter/owner that is running something into the ground. It just happened that MA gun owners are incredibly stuuuu…stubborn and/or hate their families enough to spend $15 to buy jerky, so NE gun shows have existed on life support far longer than expected

It's like the promoters have never actually been to an exhibit/theme park/circus. Discount the tickets for the little jerks and get them in the door. Then those little terrors will throw tantrums until mom/dad buys them a cotton candy, soda, popcorn, and light up wand/toy gun. That discounted/free ticket turns in to $200 in concession sales.
