They were able to have the gun because most likely they moved from a state where they could buy the gun to Massachusetts therefore making the gun legal in ma. But be prepared to pay a high premium because people think they got gold if they have a non ma compliant gun.
He has to send it to an FFL in MA. You can't do the transfer face to face because it is across a state line. Good luck finding an FFL to do it. Also with the XDM model be careful with high cap (normal capacity) mags. I didn't think SA made 10 rounders for the XDM' s.
Nope. Federal law requires an out of state handgun to be transferred through an FFL in your state of residence. Unlikely any FFL will do this transfer for you as it poses a legal and financial risk to the FFL.
