Mosin Nagant m44 stock refinished

I refinished my m44 stock finally got it back together after alot of sanding and spraying heres a couple pics

Thanks guys first i sanded the stock down with 80-220 grit, then i stained it with minwax Red mahogany stain then applyed a wash coat with minwax poly cut with a little thinner let it dry sanded lightly with 600 grit then 3 coats of spray poly clear satin sanded and tacked between coats and walla.

one of the best Mosin stock refinish i've seen. and not just on NES, on the Internet as well.
id like to hear steps and materials,supplies, etc used
i want my scratched up m44 to look like that too.
 
I was inspired by, and refinished my Mosin almost exaclty this way.. http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu60.htm. I stripped the stock with oven cleaner. For stain, I used a mix of RIT dye (red and brown) and rubbing alcohol to get the color I wanted.

The finish I used was Tru-oil, 10 or 12 coats IIRC.

My Mosin looks about as good as the one in the illustration with maybe a bit darker and
more glossy stock.
