Muzzle Break

im looking for a good muzzle break for my AR15, any ideas?

anyone know what kind they are selling with the STAG models at Four Seasons?

I really enjoy the PWS TTO I threw on my first build. Not a lot of noise, very little muzzle rise. of course when I got it it was black.

If you search for "muzzle brake" you'll find lots of threads that cover this. It really depends on what you want to do with the rifle. Different brakes for different tasks.

If you are just looking for one that is legal I recommend the RRA military style brake for about $40. It has three small slots and I do not find it stupid loud. I cant tell you how effective it is because I did not shoot the rifle without it. Good luck.

i have had great sucess with the Kahntrol clamp on brake. It has stood up quite well and is very effective, i torqued it with a little mild loctite and it has not budged!i always recheck the torque after every range visit but it has not loosened or malfunctioned a bit.

I have a cheaper YHM Phantom muzzle brake on my 16" mid-length gas AR and I like it. To other people at the range it's like a good punch in the chest, and shooting it keeps the rifle quite tame. Doesn't break the bank either. I know Battlecomp's are very popular as well, but can be expensive.

Both are awesome at doing their job, both are also obnoxious to others, but the fsc is more unpleasant to the shooter imo

clearly i am homo enough to have one on my 16" AR.

I used to have one on the 16" and took it off in favor of JoJo's fake A2 comp. The fake A2 looks cool but it doubled the recoil and now it shoots flames like a dragon.

I have realized that people just want something that looks tacticool rather then actually be effective.

i've got a YHM Phantom on my 16" spike's upper...

people say it's quite loud (ask SKSRay or EDMorseiii) i haven't noticed...
go to Zero Hour in Easton, they'll throw it on, pin and weld it for you.....
AND

it's EXTRA STABBY!!!!

can't have a sharp pointy knife thing on your AR, but you can have a sharp pointy muzzle brake.... poke somebody's eye out with it or something...

(and it's kinda A2 birdcage reminiscent....)

don't know why this one is super shiny..... they must've Vaselined it up for martha or something....

A good muzzle brake should thump the shooters next to you and they shouldn't complain........I like the miculek and have one on my ar-10....does that make me a homo? do I have to go shopping for a banana suit?
