Thanks everyone. It was one of my first C&R purchases about three years ago. It's only had a few rounds through it and is in mint condition. Definitely one of my favorites.

Very nice! But are you sure it's a 1947 pre-Model 15 Combat Masterpiece? Can you PM me the serial number and let me do some research for you? There may be a story behind this.

I just traded one in on a S&W MP15. Mine was late 60's vintage.

Fprice, I stand corrected. My K-22 is 1947, this one is 1951. A good year, nevertheless.

Okay, that makes more sense since the Combat Masterpiece was not introduced until 1949.

The reason I asked is that several years back I bought what was advertised as a pre-Model 15 Combat Masterpiece. I sent for a history letter and found out it was a 1949 6" Target Masterpiece that had been sent back to the factory to have the barrel shortened to the Combat Masterpiece configuration.
