This weekend five friends and I took a trip to Green Mountain Shooting preserve in Ossipee NH. We booked a trip for pheasant and chukar partridge hunting.
We got there at 10am and they had coffee and snacks ready for us. We met up with our guides over coffee and they brought us over to the sporting clays field for a little training as we were all first time hunters. We shot clays till noon then took a break for lunch.
After lunch we broke into two groups of three for the hunt. Each group had a guide and two dogs. The guides and dogs were all excellent and worked the fields very well.
All told we had a very successful hunt with one group taking 5 pheasant and 1 partridge and the other group taking 4 pheasant. I took one rooster and one hen pheasant, and one chukar. Needless to say I was excited to get three birds on my first ever hunt.
I give this place an A+ and I will definitely hunt there again.
