Long story short, some savage took the sights off this P220 Sport, and milled down the slide to make it smooth/flush. These are nice and somewhat rare guns, so I'd like to return it to stock or make it a gun I can run rounds through and leave the other Sports in the safe.

Anyone have creative ideas? Not sure if I have enough meat left to mill out for a red dot or put on stock sights.

New slide?

Hmmm. I was hoping to keep the sport slide but this is probably the best route to take. Makes a lot of sense no matter what I end up doing.

Mos that ish

Yeah I'd like to end up with this as the outcome. Need to find a machinist who can do the measurements and make sure it's safe.

You might have to mount a sight with screws instead of dove tail, but there is where a pro would come in.

It appears to me that the dovetails never existed or they were filled. My guess is filled and that's why it is coated. To remove the dovetails a lot of material would need to milled away...so much that the barrel shroud would be proud of the slide.
In the photo of the compensator you can make out the 'trace' of the dovetail's upper edges as two, faint transverse lines.

This is what I glean from the photos.

If the dove tail was never done then your good to go for replacement, but if it was filled you would have to see how it was done.Like if any heat was used on it.
