Need help with first time SW1911 disassembly!

mag sure you do note have a mag in - even if empty, the slide will not come off....

my springer's slide will come off with the mag in it.. its just a bitch!! hahaha

I had the mag out, I had to look closely a second time (after I posted) to see the shape of the slide stop pin that needed to line up with the notch in the slide to come out. Thanks for the quick replies though.

I've got a SW1911 with walnut grips and the target sights.

I'm off Cape until Saturday evening, then I have to work so I won't be able to get to Nauset until next week.

It's when you reinstall the slide stop improperly and cause a characteristic scratch.

This is an extreme example because it continues onto the slide.

i have a idiot mark on my frame, from the idiot before me using something to hold the plunger thing back to get the slide stop back in.. its tiny.. but there.
