So I picked up a new piece of hardware yesterday at Dick's in Danvers. Experience wasn't terrible as I have read about, but could have been better. They are really just dumbasses when it comes to the paperwork. They also had to have a manager walk the gun to the main counter, and then outside, once I decided to purchase.

In any event, I went in looking for ammo, saw a 28" pump for $199... I said.. what the hell.. I take that.

I've been looking for a 12ga pump for zombie purposes, and just to have something cheap to shoot with today's ammo prices.

After a little research, AFTER buying it, it gets really good reviews.

It takes all the accessories of a Remington 870, and warranty is backed H&R (Remington subsidiary)

And did I mention, it was $199, brand new?

Picked up a case of target loads and a box of 00 Buck.

Can't wait to try it tomorrow.

Just a heads up to anyone looking for a cheap 12ga pump.

Pardner Pump Walnut is what I got: http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Shotguns/pardnerPump.asp

Not a bad looking rig. Did it come with the rail?

If you mean the rail along the top of the barrel, yes. Does not come with any type of scope rail. Though it is pre-tapped to mount accessory rails.

Pardner pumps are really nice for the dough. The receivers are forged in China and are carbon-copies of the old, early Remington receivers. They will accept any Remington 870 accessory except barrels - 870 barrels will not fit...

If anyone is looking for a great HD shotgun, the Pardner Protector is pretty sweet. It's 5+1 with a beaded 18" barrel and is tapped for a scope/rail. $249.99
