New Beverly School, Flawed Design?

Are you MAD, man?? How can the State control our children if they are at home???? They need to be at the school, locked up, in order to receive theindoctrination.

Why not just do it as 'school from home'?? Since pretty much every house/home these days has at least one computer and high enough connection speed, you could simply do mass web conferences for the 'classes'. No need to do video for most of it, or at least not from the students end of things. As a side benefit, it would be easier for kids to take more advanced classes that would only be offered too far away to get to.
There was just such a program in MA for a while. Greenfield Virtual Commonwealth School | Pioneering Personalized Education in Massachusetts
It was free, online, and an actual MA public school.

If I had to guess, the officially proffered reason would be not all students would respond well to that style of education. Probably right: the traditional Myers-Briggs Extroverts - your jocks, sluts, student council members, ... - probably wouldn't dig it, since it isn't the highly-social hierarchical nose-in-arse environment they thrive in. And it wouldn't afford proper opportunity to "socialize" (torment) those damned dweeby Introverts.

Okay, slightly tongue-in-cheek. Only slightly.

Of course, the actual reasons:

1. Teachers' Unions.
2. Teachers' Unions.
3. It wouldn't allow the corralling of emotional, hormonally-charged teenagers by the thousand - who have spent their entire lives getting their own way and a Participation Trophy - so Bad Things could predictably happen, thus permitting the furthering of a certain agenda.
Oh, and:
4. Teachers' Unions.

why is it flawed now? There are usually a ton of meetings prior to them even selecting the lot on which to build. The town's people had these plans months before they broke ground or laid the cornerstone. This is a knee jerk reaction to that parkland shooting.
