Country pond fish and game newton nh has purchased a new indoor range system. Installation starts Saturday morning February 8. We have sent an email blast to members notifying all of the range closure for the next week due to the install. Usually our website is updated minimum 45 days out regarding range closures but this was not possible due to scheduling of the install crew. The one week closure is a small price to pay for the upgrade that we have purchased for our members.

The new range equipment includes modern computerized target track with pre set distances or the shooter can jog the target to desired distance using the touch screen. The equipment is from the same company that provided sig academy with its range system. Also ballistic panels will be installed in the lane dividers for additional safety. The air handling system will be upgraded to provide better air quality for our members.

Please pardon the week long indoor range closure while we improve our facilities for our members.

10 volunteers showed up today for demolition of the old equipment.

Electrician monday and Tuesday
Install of new equipment and partitions starts Wednesday.

Awesome job ! What type of bullet retrieval backstop system are you going to use ?
There will be cardboard attached to the retriever that will hang down a little so the paper targets can be put on with paper clips or binder clips. Just like sigs indoor range.

The lane dividers are ar500 with rubber sandwiching the steel.....the rubber is ballistic as well as acoustic improvement. Acoustic/ballistic panels installed on the left wall going down range as well. The left wall was bare concrete (it's in the basement of the clubhouse) so we installed the panels to protect the concrete and improve sound reduction. The touch screen target system is the same as sig has but we did not get the system that turns the target 90 degrees. The storage bin under the bench is a nice touch.....can store a range bag right under the bench.

Tested it last night......sound is way better when someone is in the bay next to you....the old dividers were just plywood lol.

Is that shelf removable ?
Not sure what your mean by removable.

There's down range access on 2 stations where the shelf lifts up and swings out. However......we don't allow down range access unless it is an event that requires it like pin shoots etc...and we don't allow holster draw on our ranges so there is no need to remove the shelf.

Wow, that’s a lot less than I expected!
There was a little sticker shock when the cost was presented to the members and some discussion of course. Bottom line it was a unanimous vote to spend the money.

Our indoor range is by far the most used facility at the club. Open 24 hours a day as well. It will get alot of use with our members.

We got an estimate for a 10 lane range with less fancy target carriers and dividers, and it was close to $500k.

That’s why $100k seems inexpensive!

"Removable" meaning to facilitate optional shooting positions such as kneeling or prone.

No

Shooting prone or kneeling on the indoor range will have the trajectory upward angle to the point the projos that will hit the very top of the backstop or the ceiling.
