Has S&W ever done this with the rear sight?

The S&W factory made 640 Pro comes with a very similar rear iron sight and in my opinion it is a huge benefit because for me it points better than the regular j frame rear sight setup.Has S&W ever done this with the rear sight?
the 640 pro is all steel , weighs slightly more than air weights and shoots 357 , that little bit of extra weight allows it to shoot 357 without the nasty recoil of the air weight 357s
For me, the 640 pro is the best j frame available

Really digging those front and rear sights. I like the idea of the titanium pins (also firing pin?), but not sure of the actual necessity/value there. While those grips look all fun, not so sure on those, but would have to try them out. Wondering if these sights can be put in a regular 642, and if so, for how much. Very compelling package, though.
