I just picked this up yesterday. What a nicely made firearm. I tore it down to make sure there were no chips or other machining matter inside of it. It was clean as a whistle. It came with (2) 8 round mags. Hopefully I can see how it shoots today against my recently purchased S&W 1911. The barrel and bushing are an extremely tight fit on it.

I bought one from Acme Armament the day after Thanksgiving. The TALO is an absolute joy to shoot. It easily delivers 3" groups at 50' and runs great.

I love the old school look and the Rosewood grips are a real nice touch. I picked up a Crossbreed Supertuck for it and find that the 1911 is the only gun I don't mind carrying IWB because it is so thin. Two extra mags and one in the pipe gives you 25 rounds of 45ACP. Nice, very nice

Bought mine yesterday. It's my 1st 1911 and sent a box of 230gr fmj down range. Seems like a very nice pistol and well put together. Holliston Firearms, great place to visit!

That's a sweet looking gun. How much did it set you back? I wonder how these compare to the Rugers.

I don't want to list the price that I paid for it because I have a dealer friend that got it for me at cost. I think the going price is about the same as the Ruger. The standard version should be about $30 - 40 cheaper than the Talo version. Maybe a dealer can pipe in here to confirm this.

We just got back from taking out the Remington Talo 1911, my used S&W 1911, Star BM and a Taurus PT92. There was my daughter, her friend (female) and myself. After 500 rounds you could say we did enough shooting for the day. 200 rounds of .45 ACP and 300 rounds of 9mm were spent. They both shot more rounds than I did. It's been about 15 years since I fired a 1911. I forgot what fun these were to shoot. The girls enjoyed shooting the 1911's also. We weren't shooting for accuracy just plinking away and breaking in the Rem 1911. It was extremely windy out there in the fields. The targets were plastered with holes. Quite a few bullseyes overall and plenty of rounds in the rings. We were only shooting at 25 feet. There were a lot of multiple overlapping bullets holes in the same spots and large holes literally blown out of the targets. I can't wait for the next time we go out. We are going to build 3 target stands, one for each of us and bring along a lot more ammo and targets. It was great to see the smiles on the girls faces when they shot the 1911's. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to buy a few of the 1911's for themselves in the near future, LOL. The Taurus belongs to my daughter. I'd like to pick up a Ruger 1911 just to do some comparison betweem the Rem, S&W and Ruger to see how they shoot against each other. I guess I'll have to build a shooting bench to do this. Hhmmm, I see more fun in the future months to come.

We have an R1S (Stainless over Blued) Remington 1911 in stock in anyone wants one. Last one, but we can probably order more, for now. Very nice looking firearm!!

Hey, I bought this one! :D

Took it out to the range last weekend. Only 100 rounds through so not at all broken in yet. I did have 1 failure to feed on the last round I shot, the 100th round...

Fun to shoot, but I need to figure out how to suck less and get it on the paper (I was shooting at 25 yards because the shorter ranges were occupied).

I love my Remington, after carrying it one of the gold Remington logos fell out of my grip and I lost it so I replaced them with vz grips and called Remington they send out some new grips at no charge

We have the R1911 for $695 here.

I think it's just the Rosewood Grips and 8 round magazine. I think that both have the Match barrel.

Yes on the grips and two 8 round mags. The basic one comes with one 7 rounder.

I just picked one of these up...haven't shot it yet but was very impressed with the quality. I got the talo model for 625. Can't wait to hit the range with it.

I wonder how these Remingtons would do in a side by side comparison with the Ruger 1911's. Anyone have a picture of both? Looks aside, are they equal quality?

The frame on the Ruger is stamped, not forged. It is how the keep manufacturing costs down. The Remington is a forged frame and a match barrel.

The Ruger does come with extended safety and beavertail grip.

Accuracy testing that I have seen gives the Remington a slight edge, but you would have to be a heck of a shooter to notice much of a difference.

Shot a few mags out of mine yesterday and the pistol shot awesome, very accurate. My only complaint (which I will fix) is I got hammer bite bad. I have bigger hands and am going to have to put a beavertail grip on it. Other than that great 1911 for an even better price. I even like the look of the stainless bushing. Highly recommend this 1911 if you want an American made 1911 that is high in quality and reasonable in price. I did just find out that the talo model is no longer MA compliant or available so if you find one get it.
