I have a question Im hoping someone has the answer to...I just bought a brand new Wather P99 S&W .40cal and it came with the two 10 round magazines...can I get a larger magazine for it? a 12, 16 round?...any help guys would be greatly appreciated...and any other good knowledge you might have on that would be useful would be great!

thanks,
Luke

Not legally if you live in MA, unless of course you're a LEO or are otherwise "special." There are 12 rounders available in free states but AFAIK none were made before the ban date so they are not legal to posses in MA. I have heard that pre-ban Beretta mags (not sure which model) can be made to fit a P99 but I have not been able to confirm that myself.

I am not a lawyer.

Yes, large capacity 12 rd. magazines are available for the .40 Walther P99.
I think 9mm has both15 & 16 rd mags.
All of them are not cheap starting around $60+ ea.

Available but not legal to possess in MA. (We wouldn't want the OP to run afoul of the law.) [wink]

Correct. There are no pre-ban high cap mags for the P99, as it was not introduced until '97-'98, IIRC.

so my 10 round mags are the highest I can have legally in MA? Good to know...I wont be looking for a higher cap mag then..!!..dont need to get my a$$ in a bind!

Right, unless you can find mags that you can prove were manufactured prior to September 13, 1994. In the case of the P99 there are none.

Thanks for your service and welcome to NES by the way!
