My nephew, brother in law and I had our first taste of SASS Cowboy Shooting today at the Wilton Fish and Game Club in Wilton, Maine.

Guns and ammo provided. No shortage here. All single action revolvers, lever guns, pump and double barrel shotguns need to be era specific, approx 1850's to 1910's or replicas.

Some Sponsors of the shoot. This was not SASS sanctioned, but rather an introduction to our area to familiarize newbies and potential members.

The secret is to load your own gun. A couple of times the revolvers got shorted a round by the sponsors.... oops. That's me shooting.

A grande time was had by all.

I shot Cowboy Action Shooting for years. It was beyond fun for a long time. I got to play cowboy with real guns. It was like a dream come true.

That looks like a great event!
These intro events with guns and ammo provided are a great way to get people into the shooting sports. I attended a similar event in the spring to introduce people to trap shooting. I had my own 12ga within a week and I get over to the Pelham F&G for open trap as often as I can.
Excellent job Wilton F&G!

Yeah, events like this are probably good for gun sales.

My nephew was a real natural. He even shot one round completely clean. I'd be surprised if he didn't have a pair of single action .45 replicas very soon!

He already had a coach gun search in the works.

Thats a great replica of a Concord coach, It looks like Amos T,s. We had a real one at the Regional shoot in Pelham last July. Every cowboy shooter was getting thier picture taken with it

Amos T's it is!

He's not only a great Cowboy, he's a great guy as well. He put a lot of time, effort and money into this introduction shoot. All with enthusiasm and a smile!
