Appleseeds looks back to that fateful day on April 19th, 1775. Appleseed instructors tell the story of what happened that day, and how great men made a lasting effect on the world. How their sacrifices and desire for liberty would form a new nation the world had never seen before. Appleseed takes us back and recounts the events of that day and how marksmanship played a role in overcoming the strongest military force the world had ever known.

Appleseed is a great instructional event that examines our history and teaches the skills of what those brave men were, Riflemen. It's an exciting two days of skills training and history. You will learn how to shoot and the history of how we got here.

If you're a seasoned marksman come on out and earn your Rifleman patch. Better yet come on out and start the process to become an instructor. NH is looking to expand to new locations, add on new instructors, and build out the number of events they hold each year.

If you're new to rifle marksmanship or shooting at all, then what better place to start learning, than at an Appleseed event. The teaching focuses on safety and traditional rifle skills from standing, sitting/kneeling, and prone positions. The instructors review topics such as Natural Point of Aim, Six Steps to Firing the Shot, learning to shoot from a sling, Steady Hold Factors, Target Detection, Environmental factors, Scope and sight adjustments, and much much more.

It's a very very safe weekend of shooting, comradery, and history. If it's just you, they would be happy to have you, but it's not uncommon to see whole families and friends show up for a great day together.

Three weeks out from NH's next Appleseed event. March is a mixed bag, It can either be a beautiful spring day, or we could have another Winterseed event. Last year's March event was some cold wet weather. But we persevered and had a great weekend. How about you? Get tuned up for warm weather shooting and start the season off strong. Would love to see the NES Cadra make a showing at Dunbarton next month.

The St. Patrick’s Day event at the sportsmen’s club in Dunbarton, NH was a spectacle to behold. Yes, it was a little cold and the rain was threatening, but all of that aside it was an amazing weekend. The club’s unwavering support for the program was evident and much appreciated. The weekend saw a turnout of 11 enthusiastic participants, with the majority being new to the Appleseed program. Safety was paramount, and the event saw the rise of two new Riflemen.

A father-son duo spent quality time together, showing noticeable improvement over the weekend. Four other participants demonstrated amazing progress. One participant, new to the program, absorbed the fundamentals on Saturday, while another experienced their first shoot in New England on Sunday. A previous Rifleman was on the brink of requalifying with a score of 208.

The event was punctuated by three significant moments: the first strike on Saturday morning, a stirring second strike, and a powerful third strike that brought it all home. Stories of determination were shared on Sunday, just before the Known Distance (KD) segment.

Another highlight of the event was the promotion of a new Instructor. It is always great to see our instructors in training succeed and take that next step.

The weekend was a resounding success, and anticipation is already building for the next one. I truly hope to see some more of the NES community at these events.
