I'm looking for my first gun and I want to get a ISSC M22 and I have a few questions.
1) These recently became Mass compliant, are there any versions that aren't complaint and can't be transferred in?
2) Is there anything wrong with getting a threaded barrel even though I can't get a suppressor? I found one w/ a threaded barrel that's cheaper than any non-threaded version that I could find.
3) Also, what's the difference between these two threaded barrels? Does the second picture have this adaptor?
Thanks!

doesn't seem reliable. but there are youtube videos on them. i'm having trouble finding a manuf., importer or distributor who actually makes them (i.e. springfield armory imports whatever the XD is called overseas)... how did you find out they were mass approved??? is there a new E-POS list? [laugh] the last one was late 2010 IIRC... i want to say November???? anywho, i don't i'd buy one until they make one that doesn't need CCI round nose as i've never seen any. i've only seen CCI mini mags (my round of choice) or CCI standard velocity... oh and those super high speed ones that come in 50 (or is it 40) round boxes..

anywho, it looks like a "pass" for me right now...

Thanks. They're made by ISSC and imported by Austria Arms. The gun became Mass. compliant in March, newest EOPS was in June-2011. I've read that the newer batches of M22's were much more reliable. I want tactical .22 handgun and it's either this or the Sig Mosquito or Walther P22 (my brother is going to get the Mosquito).

Revived from the dead, any news on how these are treating people now that they have been out for a while??????????????

I ended up buying a used one back in October w/o the threaded barrel. The guns that had the problems were from the first batch (serial numbers with AAA). Mine's a second batch(AAB). Here are the problems I've encountered (none are major):

1) My rear sight is loose; could be from previous owner. I had to superglue it in place.
2) Failure to fire. I use CCI Blazers. There are noticeable primer strikes on the casing and if I try to fire the same round again it'll usually fire. Happens about 2/100 rounds. I've only had 1/1000 that would not fire after multiple primer strikes. This could be due to the ammo since my brother's Mosquito also has the same problem. However, I don't have this problem with my M&P15-22 rifle even though I use the same ammo.
3) For some reason my gun doesn't like to shoot right after being cleaned; sometimes I'd get failure to ejects. No FTE's once the gun has had a few rounds through it though.

As of right now, my gun has over 500 rounds through it since it was last cleaned and has run perfectly except for the occasional failure to fires. I can't comment on the newer models, although I expect them to run better. Decent accuracy at 31ft. It still shoots better than me.

I picked up an ISSC M22 today used with i believe a low round count, my son and i put about 50 rounds of CCI standard velocity and 100 CCI high velocity through the pistol, the only flaw we found that was when we loaded 10 rounds we got a few hangers and mis fires. We started loading 8 and no had a problems the rest of the time on the range. Its a fun gun and a lot cheaper that my Glocks or M&P's on the range.

I bought a new one a few weeks back. Brought it home, cleaned it and have had two range trips with a cleaning in between.

As recommended by the manufacturer - I shot cci mini mags - 36 gr copper plated hp's both time. They recommend this for the first 200 rounds.

First trip was what I would call a disaster. Shot 1 box (100 rounds) and I am not sure if I got through one whole magazine without a failure to feed or a failure to eject. I was loading 10 rounds per magazine. About 6 rounds jammed on the feed ramp. And about 8 or 10 were ejection failures. I am not used to this nonsense - my Ruger Mark III has been fairly error free since I had a trigger job and ejector installed. And all my center fire pistols have been virtually error free since day one so this was kind of a shock.

Second range trip was a better but not error free. I shot 50 rounds and got a couple error free magazines but still had a feed failure and a couple ejection failures.

Cleaned it again and will probably make it to the range this weekend. Will try loading 8 rounds in the magazine and see if that helps at all.

BTW - this is MA compliant as I live in MA and the dealer had them in stock.
