Does anyone know someone who maybe specializes in Remington rifle repairs? I need to get my Nylon 66 repaired. Its an inexpensive rifle, but I've had it for 30 yrs, and it holds a bit of sentimental value. Not to mention it's one of the best .22's I've ever owned. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Guys

I've had the gun since the 70's. According to the manual, I should remove the barrel and clean the bolt after either years or 5000 rounds. I did so, and it was a simple dis-assembly. However, a smaill piece fell out of an assembly that is buried in the stock. I cant ever see the thing, nor can I get at it? I love this thing and dont want to screw it up any more than it already is. Its not catostrophic, but its a tiny piece, and I dont work on anything I cant see.
Thanks for all the tips folks..

I did the exact same thing once. It took me HOURS to put it back together. I think the manual actually states to NEVER dissassemble the nylon 66. LOL. It CAN be fixed, but I don't rmember HOW I did it.

The piece that usually drops out is the Cartridge Feed insert. This is a small, slightly concave piece that assists with the feeding of the cartridge. (go figure) Nylonrifles.com has the Remington Nylon 66 Rifle Disassembly with exploded view PDF that shows all the parts and where they go.

Also on the site are two videos, one showing basic disassembly and the other showing Re-assembly. You can find those at www.nylonrifles.com/NylonRifles/Nylon_Media

If those don't help or you still don't want to risk it, Mac66 in the forums there has been know to assist in repairs for just the cost of shipping. He hates to see a good rifle go bad!

Hope this helps and good luck!
