Chime in ladies and gents.. I'm looking at one used, Italian made, although Beretta claims the US and Italian models are identical

Pros: I don't own a Beretta, something new to take to the range.
9mm is cheaper to shoot than my .40

Cons: Price is north of 6 bills, it only has one 15 round magazine, and they seem to be in short supply and about 45 bucks.

As always I value your expert opinions, so fire away.

Thanks!

North of $600??? That's ridiculous!!!

Market price for a used 92FS is $450, and they can be found for $400 on occasion. Granted the INOX are harder to find, but shouldn't cost you much more.

These guns can be had NEW w/2 10 round mags for $550. And $30 is more like it for preban high cap mags. I paid $20 each for mine.

I thought the guy was smoking crack, but I thought I'd ask. He started at 700, came down to 600, but with only 1 magazine and no other accessories I think I am passing on it.

A friend of mine that is playing over in the sandbox says he likes his, but it isn't something he'd buy for civilian use.

I was just looking for a new toy to take to the range, and I don't think that gun is going to give me something that my G22 or P225 isn't giving me already

An inox 92 that has all inox parts, control levers, safetys, slid latch lever and extractor are selling all day long for $600 on the Beretta forum. amint Inox is worth 600 but not much more unless its one of the Elites. The elites are selling for 6-700 and go pretty quick.

I know nothing, (or close to) about them - are the Inox models really that much better? Really?

The Beretta guys really like the guns when all the parts are inox on them. The newer guns usually dont have inox safety levers etc.

"INOX' is Italin for Stainless. [grin] And Italian made is more desireable (not necessarily better) and it is true that older Inox were ALL stainless including the controls but the newer ones have black plastic comtrols. Obviously the older ALL stainless are more collectible. The heaverier Brigadier slide is also a plus

I have an italian made 92 inox. Love it!
(inox is stainless steel).

IMO. The Itailian made guns are FAR superior to anything put out by Beretta USA. Fit, finish, smoothness etc, all are considerably better than the US gear. I presently have the 92 (italian inox) and a US made 96 (blue/ black) US Centurian. There is no contest. The Italian made gun is just flat out better, tigger as well.

I'd happily trade my US made 96 in a heartbeat for an Italian made gun.
Not sure about current prices, but the Italian made guns have always commanded a 50-100 premium over the US made guns. If it is an Italian made Inox, I would say 600-650 sounds about right, depending on condition (especially in mass).
