I have decided that I have had enough playing Reload Russian Roulette with my Glock 30 and have decided to get a replacement barrel with a fully supported chamber. I am thinking of picking up a KKM precision barrel. Does anyone have any experience and/or thoughts on this barrel.

I am not interested in match quality or custom fit barels like a Bar-Sto. I just want something that I can interchange before going to the range that will give me piece of mind when shooting reloads.

Thanks.

Very few semi auto barrels have fully supported chambers. The throating necessary to allow the round to feed reliably into the chamber removes some metal from the chamber and leaves a certain amount of the case unsupported. This is true with most semi autos, not just Glocks. Glocks do have rather large or "loose" chambers that allow for a lot of expansion of the brass which can make it a little difficult to resize. this does not mean that the gun/barrel is unsafe or that the brass has been stressed to the point that it is unsafe.

I have been shooting several Glocks for years with no problems. As long as you use quality ammo, new or reloads, and keep the gun properly maintained you won't have any problems. Most of my Glock shooting has been done with hard cast lead reloads (about 40,000 rounds) and I have yet to have a problem. Save your money and use the stock barrel.
