I have a P22 that I bought about 7 years ago. I've put thousands of rounds through it, don't have an exact count but it is a pretty good amount. I stripped it for cleaning the other day and noticed a significant amount of wear on one particular spot on the frame. On the left hand side of the frame there is a bump in the metal that engages the slide when the slide is back all the way (that's what it looks like to me). I would say the front quarter or third of that bump has been worn down.
I've included some iPhone pics, can take some better ones if necessary.
What is the function of this bump?
Should I be concerned about this wear?
Am I not lubricating enough or is this normal after 5-10k rounds?
Any help would be appreciated.

Looks perfectly normal for these guns. Look at the P22 bible pictures. One of them shows the same wear or worse.

The use of the "hump"? I think it engages the firing pin safety.

Some guy's P22 hump wore off after 40K shots...

Thanks for the input. I had never come across the "P22 Bible" before but it seems like a good source for information.
Glad to know it is normal wear, I'll probably keep an eye on it all the same.
