P30 Ejection Issue

I took my H&K P30 to range today. I was using some cheap Federal aluminum 115gr ammo. The casing was ejecting straight back at my face. What would cause such a thing?

Crappy ammo. Try a few different types of ammo. If they all do the same you know that it is an extractor type issue and not ammo related.

I've been less than impressed with federal aluminum case lately (9mm for me). Last few boxes seemed like weak loads with really weak ejection.

From what I've seen, the aluminum Federal ammo is some of the worst crap out there you can buy. Try American Eagle.

Overall, how do you like the P30? I've been looking at one for EDC.

P30 is nice, I also bought a VP9 They are similar in size and look but one is striker fired and the other is hammer (P30 - hammer, VP9 - striker). For some reason, I like the feel of the VP9 better but I shoot the P30 much more consistently.

Big H&K fan here too, and prefer hammer over striker fired which is why I'm really interested in the P30.

My P30 has the LEM light trigger and it's fantastic. The DA/SA P30 trigger takes a little getting used to. A lot of slack and long reset. But it is meant as a combat pistol not a target one. It is an extremely high quality gun with extraordinary balance.

when my then new colt 1911 did just that, throw the extracted empties back at me, i need a gunsmith to adjust the ejector. your pistol should eject properly with any ammo.

The Federal aluminum 115 Grain is the only ammo that my G19 didnt like.

Aluminum is crap. My p30 didn't like it.

My p30 is one of my favorite pistols. Had bill Springfield put in a usp match trigger and stop screw. Made the gun perfect
