Anybody have any experiance with this? My buddy is really sold on this and plans on buying one brand new. Little pricy for a 9mm. I think it's around 1,200 for the new limited one. I tried to convince him he is better off with a used Glock 17 or 19. Any feedback would help.

I've got one I've had for a few years and i like it. Just had a Dawson front sight installed and had a action job done earlier. I like it but I paid about $800 for it new.

I've got one and a fellow club member just picked one up as well. I love it but it does have a couple of issues. The extractor has a weird spring and claw ( I think they call it a "Power Claw" extrator) that can be problematic. Mine failed soon after I picked up the gun (new), I called Para and convinced them to just send me a new extractor assy instead of sending them back the whole gun (they were concerned I couldn't install it properly), it was a simple repair and the extractor has functioned fine for approx 4000 rounds since replaced. EGW makes a sleeve that will allow a regular 1911 extractor to be installed in the gun. The gun my friend bought is displaying similar issues.

The other issue is a really tight "match" chamber. I was having issues with my reloads not feeding fully and then being very difficult to remove. A Lee final size die installed in my Dillon solved that problem, the gun feeds flawlessly now, this may have been a result of "Glockified" range brass.

It has that familiar 1911 feel even with the double stack width, the stock grips are a bit thinner than a 1911 and that helps the feel. All in all I'm very pleased with the gun, it's become my main practical gun.

I have the PO18-9LDA Limited. Great gun super reliable, consistently accurate with a wide variety of bullet weights (always provides 2 inch or smaller groups at 50 ft). On the minus side the grip is much larger than a S&W M&P9 which has almost the same magazine capacity.

I have owned several Paras, but not the P18. My experience has been that Para's quality control is horrble and their customer service is worse. I will never buy another Para.

PS Their new and improved extractor sucks. The good news is that EGW now makes a replacement.
