Para USA PDA (.45 ACP) CWX645R , Anyone have experience with one?

I have heard mixed reviews on the Para's, but I held one of these today and really liked it. Only 6+1 capacity in .45 acp, but it was very concealable and overall a great looking gun. I liked the LDA trigger on it.

I had one and didn't like it at all. The "new and improved" extractor rewarded me with several stove pipes and the slide cracked at the front sight dovetail after about 200 rounds. On the plus side, the gun was extremely accurate (head shots at 25 yds and A zone hits at 50). I found the trigger to be too light and easy to short stroke.

Para did replace the slide. I then traded the gun back to FS on an M&P 45.

I remember a popular gun-blogger who really liked his for 1000 rounds or so, and carried it for a while. It's just about the only MA option in that form factor and price range, and if you get a good one, it's probably good.

If you get a bad one.....

Para will probably get a pass on these guns because they aren't generally shot very much. My experience with Para is that their guns are crap and customer service isn't much better. I have two Para P-16s that function flawlessly. One, I built from a "gunsmith" frame and the other I completely rebuilt; only the slide and frame remain stock. As I said, they function flawlessly, but Para had nothing to do with it.
