Pick one. M&p9,Glock 17, P99?

If you want to scare somebody, go with the M&P, but if you want a pistol that works and works well, go with the Glock. 1st 2nd or 3rd generation it doesn't really matter, they are all good.

I don't follow? Why is the M&P more scary? I love glocks, but I don't think they are vastly superior over the M&P in any way. Both my Dad and I own M&P 9mm (along with a number of glocks), ours have been reliable. My father is very lazy with guns, I literally don't think he has cleaned his M&P since he bought it. With hundreds of rounds down range, it has never malfunctioned.

I like glocks for hi-cap mags, but other than that I think the M&P are pretty darn close.

G17, M&P9, P99 in that order.

Out of the box the Glock shoots better, (for me anyway), 5-6 lb. trigger helps a lot, and high cap mags are available. I have problems sometimes dropping mags from my M&P40 while shooting, but that's my lack of training, not the gun. I have no personal experience with the P99 so that's why I ranked it 3rd.

Also, the Glock torture tests make me feel more confident in the Glock than the M&P although I know someone tested an M&P shooting 60 something thousand rounds without malfunction, I just have more confidence in my G22.

I love my Walther P-99, there is no need for an aftermarket trigger job,the action is great, very accurate basically The P-99 is a "High-End" M&P (High Cap mags are available)& Strong Leather Co.(Glosta!) makes an awesome pancake holster.
S&W's M&P9 is a good value (IMO)for a new gun w/ their mag offer
I own All three and have no complaints.
However if you got the funds,go Glock

P99AS 9mm all the way. 16+1, ergonomic, same tenifer finish as the Glock, same polymer, same or better accuracy and reliability. Love mine. Never jammed. The AS trigger is the best.

So what did you pick up?? I have the S&W version of the p99 compact and its a nice carry gun. I'm now saving for a glock.

I went with the glock 17, got slip on grips for it and a new front sight. I love the gun I am much more accurate with it then the other two and you cant argue with the reliability and mag capacity of a glock. I like my glock better then any gun I ever shot even my friends sigs 226 229.
and for the money a gen 2 is awesome.

I also bought a p22 for plinking

What kind of front sight did you go with? I'm thinking about getting a fiber optic for my Glock 22.

The Hi-Viz fiber optic one for glocks. First Defense has them in stock. The installation took a few minutes pushed the old one out and the new one fit perfectly in. I tapped it with a rawhide hammer just to make sure it was snug and I didn't damage the thin metal. I think I payed $26 for it and it comes with a bunch of different colors and replacement sticks in case you lose one.
It makes it easier to line up your shot I think, my glock is a range gun so no need for night sights.
