I do a good job of cleaning my firearms but wonder if the chamber needs more attention. When cleaning lets say a 9mm can I just use a larger than 9mm brush for the chamber or does it even need any additional efforts. TY.

Get a Bore Snake, thats all you need, its all you'll ever need.
^^This.Use the equipment you have; look in with a light. If it's clean, you're good to go.
It's not rocket surgery, after all...
Clean all you want with a bore snake. Then run a clean patch down the bore. Still clean? I didn't think so.

Yup, pretty much. Bore snakes are quick and easy. You're cleaning guns, not sterilizing surgical instruments.
If you want to clean your handgun until it will pass a "white glove" test, have at it. It is pointless to do so, and that much cleaning is more likely to cause additional wear than to help anything, but it is your gun.
Unless you are shooting lead and have lead deposits in the barrel, a bore snake works just fine.
THE PROPER WAY IS TO MAKE SURE IT'S NOT LOADED FIRST. EVERYTHING ELSE YOU DO AFTER THAT IS FINE.
