I have done a bit of training at Granby Bow n Gun Club with the guys from CASS in their ar and handgun courses. However, they do not have any rifle courses. I am looking to get some more training on both my ar-10 and scoped 308 bolt action.
Been watching tons of YouTube vids and picking up lots of good tips.
Just wondered if anyone knows about any other groups teaching scoped rifle courses at Granby, or any where else.

Ridgeline has a series of precision rifle courses as well as more unique offerings, like RECCE mountain course for scoped ARs. their mountain range is 700yds and last time I spoke to the owner, they were working on a 1000yd range going accross a valley. Shooting accross a valley is very challenging due to strong crosswinds

It's an incredible class with great instructors at an amazing facility. Three levels of precision shooting off the bolt action platform. Two other AR based scoped rifle courses, scoped carbine and Recce.

Coldbore Institutions out of Vermont offers long range classes.

Do you participate in any PRS matches ? You'll learn a lot just by watching and talking to people.

You could join a club that has a range to practice on.

Some kind NES members have even offered "PRS for Newbs" days at the range.

Ridgeline is a good bet for training. Haven’t been to Sig in a few years but that might be a cheaper option. Mike Mayo with Rifles Only NH will be running classes this summer at Alderbrook.

And of course feel free to come to any matches and shoot or hang, happy to have you

I went to the “Beginner” PRS events at Granby last fall and honestly it wasn’t that much fun. If you’re not used to the course of fire and requirements when shifting shooting positions you can get lost very easily. Maybe it was the group I was in but the guy leading the squad got frustrated with us beginners and overall it was a “challenging” day.

Try another match at a different location. I mean, if youv'e got everything to shoot out to 1k yards, why not give it a try?

My training company is offering a mid range carbine class in 2025 at Hardwick Rod and Gun. Distance is out to 500yards. Class is designed for AR style Reece/scoped carbines but if your looking it is on our website. Sign up as spots have been filling.
